On 9 April 2025, the area in front of the National Technical Library was transformed into an open-air car show. The freely accessible exhibition offered hundreds of test drives, premieres of several brands and exceptional exhibits including two Tatra trucks.

The Dejvice campus of Czech Technical University in Prague came alive for the fourth time with a showcase of electric cars, innovations and technological innovations. The Automotive Day 2025 exhibition, organized by the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies of the CTU, attracted hundreds of visitors from the public, students and experts. Hundreds of test drives took place during one day, not only with passenger electric cars, but also with several commercial vehicles that were presented for the first time.

Radek Holý, Vice-Rector for Quality Management of CTU, attended the opening ceremony on behalf of the Rector and said, "Events like Automotive Day are perfectly suited to the environment of CTU. The automotive industry today is not just about the production of cars, but about related areas such as chips, semiconductors or process control. It is a complex topic that has overlap across the whole university."

This year, new exhibitors appeared in the area in front of NTK, whose cars visitors could admire for the first time - for example, Alfa Romeo, MG, FIAT, Jeep, Subaru or Opel. Skoda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Toyota, Lexus, Peugeot, Citroën, KIA and Tesla were among the traditional participants and presented their latest models. Alfa Romeo and MG were the ones that attracted a lot of interest, especially with their sporty design.

In addition to cars, a pair of TATRA trucks also attracted attention. As part of the development of the third generation of the TATRA FORCE series, this year the company also offered a two-axle version with a new four-door cab, equipped with General Safety Regulation (GSR) features. The technological part of the exhibition was complemented by Valeo, which showed visitors assistance and autonomous driving systems. There was also a student electric formula from CTU.

In the morning, groups of students from primary and secondary schools took turns at the exhibition, which was an interesting opportunity for them to learn about current trends in the field of mobility and at the same time get a glimpse of the university environment.

Oldřich Bronec from the CTU Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies, who organises the event, added: "We would like to thank all the exhibitors for deciding to support our event even in these uncertain times for the automotive industry. For next year we are planning a conference part again and we are preparing several interesting novelties."

Automotive Day is a unique outdoor showcase of electro-mobility and technical innovation in terms of its scope and location. This year, the CTU Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies managed to connect the academic environment with practice and bring the future of electromobility literally at the fingertips of visitors.
