Marek Suchánek obtained his first doctoral degree in the Computer Science program at his home Department of Software Engineering of CTU Faculty of Informaton Technology (KSI), the second in the Applied Economics doctoral program at the Department of Management Information Systems of Faculty of Applied Economics of University of Antwerp. His supervisors during his doctoral studies were doc. Ing. Robert Pergl, Ph.D. from FIT CTU and Prof. Dr. Herwig Mannaert from FAE UA.

"It's a special and at the same time very pleasant feeling to be a pioneer and to show the way to other students. It was challenging in many ways, but it was definitely worth it. The result of my two-discipline PhD studies is a dissertation entitled Building a Gateway Ontology between Normalized Systems and Conceptual Models, which contributes to the research on evolvable software systems and links conceptual modeling with software implementation based on Normalized Systems Theory," says Marek Suchanek.
