INSPIRELI AWARDS: Building a community school in Zambia
The INSPIRELI AWARDS competition invites architecture students from around the world to design a modern and sustainable secondary school in Zambia. The winning design will be implemented and the students will be able to participate directly in the construction. This unique opportunity combines theory with practice and allows students to contribute to the development of education in Africa. For more information on the competition, visit www.inspireli.com/kashitu.
INSPIRELI AWARDS connects architecture students from more than 160 countries and offers them a platform to present their work and participate in real challenges such as the Kashito School project.
Development in the Context of Technology exhibition
Along with the announcement of the new competition, the exhibition "Development in the Context of Technology" will be launched at Faculty of Civil Engineering on Friday 13 September. The exhibition, organized by the ICWD CTU (icwd.cvut.cz) and Surya z.s. (www.surya.cz), will present projects by students who are dealing with current problems of developing countries. Visitors can look forward to:
- Architects without Borders: projects of the national branches of Architecture Sans Frontières International
- Inspireli Awards: winning design for Beirut port redevelopment and new brief for Kashit school
- Kashitu School: photos of the implementation of the school in Zambia and discussion on further development
- Student posters: innovative solutions to problems in developing countries by Jan Tilinger's students
The exhibition is part of Development September at CTU, which starts today, Wednesday 11 September, and offers the general public the opportunity to learn about current topics in the field of development cooperation and their technical aspects.
Combining theory and practice
Both of these initiatives - INSPIRELI AWARDS and the exhibition at CTU - highlight the importance of connecting academia with practice. Students have the opportunity not only to create innovative proposals, but also to participate in their implementation and contribute to the solution of global problems.
