On 23 April 2024, the Academic Senate of CTU Faculty of Biomedical Engineering elected a candidate for Dean of FBMI. In a secret ballot, Prof. MUDr. Jozef Rosina, Ph.D., MBA was unanimously elected for the term 2024-2028 as the new Dean of FBMI.

The newly eleceted candidate for dean is expected to be appointed by the rector of CTU, doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., and Prof. Rosina will continue as Dean for another four years.

This is Professor Rosina´s fourth term as Dean of FBMI. Under his leadership, the faculty has become a respected educational and research institution with nearly two thousand students.

Next year, FBMI will celebrate twenty years of its existence, of which Prof. Rosina has been its head for twelve years and served as Vice-Dean for four years.

For the next four-year period, he plans to continue to modernize approach to teaching, build new laboratories and practical classrooms, offer other attractive study programs that are lacking on the market, and complete the renovation of the third building for the faculty. The building will be used mainly for teaching laboratory diagnostics in the health sector.

In his speech to the academic community, Prof. Rosina said: "I would like us to strive to make the CTU Faculty of Biomedical Engineering a symbol of intellectual spirit, a faculty that spreads new ideas and is a recognized scientific and pedagogical institution."
