Experts in the management of the construction company, investor preparation and development, with knowledge of building design, building materials and technologies, but also people able to succeed in any area of economics and management. Such should be the graduates of the bachelor's program Management and Economics in Construction, which has been returning as an independent student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering since the 2021/2022 academic year. Existing independently in the past, later it was included as a field under the study program Civil Engineering and students could choose it as a study specialization from the third year of study.

"We decided to reintroduce the Management and Economics in Construction program as a separate program for bachelor's studies both on the basis of students' interest in this specialization and in view of the construction sector's demand for economists who also have technical knowledge in building structures, technologies and processes. However, the education of our graduates will be broader and will enable them to find interesting applications in other fields as well, "explains prof. Renáta Schneiderová Heralová, Head of the Department of Economics and Management in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, which guarantees the program.

Students of this four-year program will receive both managerial-economic education and construction-technical education. "After graduating, they will not only be well versed in the field of general economics and management, but will also understand the specifics of the construction business. In terms of application, they will be able to choose any field, including the construction-oriented ones, which is a great advantage over other study programs, "says Ing. Eduard Hromada, Ph.D., who teaches specialized subjects focused on construction management and economics.

If the graduates of the bachelor's program want to continue their studies, they can follow up with the master's program Project Management and Engineering. This program has received the prestigious international RICS certification. Thanks to this, after graduation, they can apply for the globally respected MRICS title after only two years of practice. In the standard process, they could report after ten years of experience. Experts with this title are highly valued by prestigious real estate, consulting or development companies, and their profit opens the door to a career in international companies.

Applicants can apply for the bachelor's study programs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for the academic year 2021/2022 until 31 March 2021.
